For 2025, I’ve been working on a new podcast and an expansion of this Work Wise newsletter and want to tell you all about it! Yes, I realize this email may be the equivalent a digital lump of coal but I hope you’ll read on with curiosity...
Newsletter
Starting in 2025, I’m rolling out some exciting changes to my Work Wise Substack Newsletter to which you will have a complete, free subscription. The Substack will include:
OrgBites Weekly Videos: You may have seen these on LinkedIn. Going forward, I’ll be making my OrgBites videos a weekly feature, aiming to keep them under 4 minutes each. You can expect them on Mondays or Tuesdays, and I’ll do my best to stay consistent with this schedule. The last one “Your CEO May Be Doing Drugs” was a fun one.
Friday Weekly Roundup: I’m introducing a weekly Friday bulletin that curates (approximately) 7-10 pieces of the most worthwhile content about the World of Work from over the past week.
Grab Bag Column: I’ll be experimenting with a rotating column featuring:
Traditional Articles: Continuing the detailed, comprehensive pieces that many of you have enjoyed.
Mythbusting: Tackling common misconceptions about the workplace.
Interviews: Conversations with interesting individuals in the organizational psychology and business spaces.
Quick Tips: Bite-sized, practical advice on topics you’ve requested.
Junk Memes: You've seen these on LinkedIn: My takedowns of many of the stupid work-related memes that populate our social feeds.
And more I haven’t yet thought of!
Introducing the Forces at Work podcast!
I’m thrilled to announce the launch of my new podcast, Forces at Work! Season 1 premieres on January 7th, and you can subscribe here or wherever you get your podcasts so that the first episodes magically show up. It’s co-hosted by my dear friend, the always hilarious and insightful Katharine Smith. In the show we respond to tricky work scenarios submitted by actual listeners and give them—and you—some advice.
Check out our one-minute teaser.
Everything I’m launching is a work in progress, so I’d love your feedback. Of course, you can unsubscribe at any time and I won’t take it personally!
Okay, that’s blatantly a lie, I will, but I’ll survive (as I often tell my own daughters).
I truly hope you find the new newsletter and podcast insightful, fun, and worth your time. Wishing you a bright close to the year and an even better 2025!
Be compassionate and intentional.
Warm regards,
Jake
